About The Artist:Sébastien Léger is a French house DJ and producer. Currently ranked 204 on The DJ List, his singles “Hit Girl”, “Hypnotized” and “Aqualight” have become hit dance singles played in clubs across Europe.
Frequently touring and producing with Chris Lake, his single Aqualight was collaboration between the two. Léger has built on his skills as a trained pianist and drummer. He speaks English, Dutch and French.
He was interviewed with the Ministry of Sound representative on Ministry of Sound TV, along with Chris Lake. Léger operates a radio show, Sessions, on Ministry of Sound internet radio where he plays his own remixes and hits. Famous remixes include Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake, Duran Duran, Groove Armada and Ali Love.

On 10 May 2008, Léger made his debut on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, providing two hours of house, techno and minimal music. He played mostly material from his own record label, although he also used the chance to showcase his own remix of “Around The World” by Daft Punk. According to Sébastien Léger’s own MySpace blog, he will never release this version and intends to use it solely as a DJ tool in his sets. Also in 2008, Sébastien Léger released an updated version of the Detroit techno classic “Knights Of The Jaguar” on his label Mistakes Music. The track became an underground hit after being supported by numerous popular DJs.
We’re kicking off Thursday’s selection of funk with Slynk’s Shambhala Fractal Forest Live 2011 Mix. Slynk, Evan Chandler, is an Australian producer. He plays a lot of different styles and produces a lot of different kind of music but is most known for his funky-hiphop-bootleg-b-boy-breaks style productions. When djing he plays everything including but not limited to reggae, drum and bass, swing, rockabilly and of course a large dose of funky-hiphop-bootleg-b-boy-breaks. Basically just whole lot of awesome shit. Enjoy!
About The Track:Cut Me Down’ was the bi-product of this year’s IMS Conference in Ibiza where Sasha was assumed the honour of creating the 2011 IMS Anthem in conjunction with Burn Studios. The track was then handed over to Layo & Bushwacka for the masterclass in remixing. Their stunning mix appears on the flipside with full L&B signature riffs, basslines and bouncy drums. Sasha’s first vocal track in over 10 years features the haunting vocals of New York based Swedish vocalist, Krister Linder over Sasha’s hypnotic blend of epic, mind bending drums, gentle arpeggiators, combined with solid bass lines which forms this extremely worthy return to production on his new label, Last Night On Earth. This release also marks a return for Sasha in solo production mode. On previous releases including Coma, Who Killed Sparky, and the legendary Involver reworkings, Sasha has been working with his collective of Charlie May, Duncan Forbes and Barry Jamieson, however with time well spent on his own in his New York studio, Sasha has created this summer masterpiece. ‘Last Night On Earth’ will be Sasha’s home for supporting exciting new electronic music talent and his new solo productions. Yes, there will be more to come, and as ever, the wait is most certainly worthwhile.

About The Artist:Henri Hurtig – otherwise known as Cid Inc – celebrated the end of last year with well-deserved recognition for his production skills by being named by Beatport as one of their Progressive House Artists of 2009. Born in Finland, raised in Sweden and now based back in Oulu in Finland, Henri began making music in the early 90s and soon settled on house as the outlet for his creativity. About The Artists:PYRAMID are West London production duo and DJ/MC combo outfit Nicky D'Silva and Scott Maclean currently signed with the award-winning Funkatech Records. Maceo Plex is on a quest to fulfill his need to inject feeling and funk into the world, and he's already proving to be quite productive. With deep and funky works of audible engineering for the label Crosstown Rebels in the form of a full-length album titled "Life Index", a night with Maceo Plex will be one of galactic proportions.
To explain the evolutionary process behind Maceo's existance we must travel back to 1993, to the beginning of his creativity. At the start...Maceo was intrigued by a pair of circular shaped objects designed for holding discs created from vinyl that produced vibrations resulting in sound and music. Soon he began conjuring up mixes of techno, electro, and house music that quickly gained him popularity within the early 90s rave culture. But in 1997, while Heavily influenced by the sounds of other modern funk theorists such as Model 500, Kenny Larkin, Idjut Boyz, Convextion, etc... Maceo began experimenting with hardware modules containing knobs and keys to form his early musical compositions. Seduced by the sounds of techno & electro, Maceo grew into a technologically advanced being later to be known by various names such as Mariel Ito or Maetrik.
After many years of prolific works on such labels as Treibstoff, Dumb Unit, Cocoon, Audiomatique, Modern Love, Mothership, to name a few...Maceo aka Maetrik travelled the world playing in some of the best clubs such as Rex, Cocoon, Fabric, Womb, etc... Now in 2010 Maceo has begun to strip back some of his robotic body armor known as Maetrik in order to expose a more musical and groove based side the world has not seen yet.
The profound change has taken Maceo Plex from the complex and dark life in America to his current homebase of Valencia, Spain. The sunny and relaxed atmosphere has been quite useful to Maceo in his lengthy inward journey that is very apparent in his music. After a much needed retreat into the funky sounds of Parliament Funkadelic, Moodymann, Atjazz, Isolee, and Luomo, Maceo has finally completed his transormation and is shining brighter than the star Sirius....and his newest musical output reflects his radiation in a variety of beautiful colors. In late 2010, Maceo's single "Vibe Your Love" will finally be released on the very foward thinking label Crosstown Rebels and will include a hefty funk remix treatment by Zev of the Wolf & Lamb clang.
